Abby Snyder is pursuing a master of environmental management degree with a focus on food security at Yale F&ES. As a community organizer, former Fulbright Fellow (Indonesia) and Peace Corps Volunteer (Togo), she has witnessed first-hand the power of community collaboration to address environmental challenges and injustices. Abby and her brother Mike Snyder are both from Western Maryland.

Mike Snyder led the Mountain Traditions Project and is committed to leveraging community voices in order to highlight the natural beauty and cultural traditions of the region.

Yanin Kramsky is a designer and Master’s student at Yale F&ES. They are passionate about research methods that prioritize community involvement and agency, and creating avenues for youth to critically examine environmental challenges.

Amber Collett is a Masters candidate at Yale F&ES. She has more than a decade of experience involving wildlands protection, urban planning, and affordable higher education. Her research explores perceptions of wellbeing, civic engagement, and the conceptions of relatedness.

Sarah Sax is a Master of Environmental Science candidate at the Yale School of Forestry & Environmental Studies. She studies environmental conflicts, especially those arising at the nexus of food and forest.

Meredith Brown is a 2018 candidate for a Master in Environmental Management at the Yale School of Forestry & Environmental Studies. After growing up in the Midwest outside of Chicago, she spent her undergraduate years studying at Santa Clara University in California earning a bachelor’s degree double majoring in Political Science and Environmental Studies. For the last five years, Meredith has been living in Santiago, Chile working in the non-profit sector. While in Chile, she worked at the Santiago offices of Oceana and The Nature Conservancy where her time was spent focusing on a wide-range of both philanthropy and conservation projects throughout South America. Her current studies utilize an environmental justice lens to focus on both fresh water resources and marine conservation.

Javier A. Román-Nieves is a writer and photographer currently based in San Juan, Puerto Rico. He is the founder of the science and nature micropublishing label Roqué-Stahl Ltd. and is scheduled to begin his Master of Environmental Management (MEM) at the Yale School of Forestry & Environmental Studies in Fall 2017.

Elizabeth Parker Garcia is a doctoral student at the University of Tennessee- Knoxville. Prior to moving to Tennessee, she lived in the Rio Grande Valley of Texas for 17 years. She believes in and promotes nature's power to improve people's physical and mental health.

Christina Stone is a second-year Masters of Environmental Management student at the Yale School of Forestry & Environmental Studies. Her academic and professional specialty is communication, and is focusing her graduate work on scientific communication, particularly regarding climate change. Christina is also a writer and filmmaker and has over ten years’ experience working in communication, languages and training, including nine years in linguistics and military intelligence.

Chema is a wildlife photographer and drone cinematographer with a passion for sharing the wonder of the natural world. He believes that nature photography is not only a fine art, but a powerful storytelling tool. It is his hope that the images he shares connect people to nature in a way that raises awareness and inspires people to take action to protect and conserve the natural world.
