SAGE Magazine seeks any combination of provocative, critical, beautiful, captivating work from emerging and established environmental writers and artists. We welcome pieces ranging from playful to pensive. Our throughline is to strengthen and explore the relationship between humanity and the environment.
We welcome unsolicited submissions on a rolling basis for publication online.
Information about theme and submission process for our Spring 2025 print magazine will be posted in the late fall.
SAGE welcomes environment-related pieces, including personal essays, narrative journalism, poems, short stories, photo essays, and visual art. There are no word count requirements. Simultaneous submissions are welcome, but please withdraw your submission if it is accepted elsewhere. Note that SAGE is not able to pay authors for their submissions.
